I wish to clarify my previous comment. On YouTube there is a version of Now and Then that utilized a ’64 arrangement, it fits perfectly. (Another version has since popped-up using an “AI” John that over does it.) I don’t think Paul would have contemplated such an approach, seeing as the Beatles were always looking forward. But it does illustrate that there is a lot of “then” in the “now”.
